What Are They, Exactly?

These reusable items can be found in well-known chain stores and on the internet. In 2018, their popularity skyrocketed, owing to one major factor: convenience.

Magnetic eyelashes, unlike traditional extensions, generally contain small magnets that adhere to the eyelids with glue. These are applied in two layers, one above and one below your natural upper lashes. By delicately peeling the layers off from each other, you can get rid of them. However, there are risks associated, as with anything you put on or in your body.

Are they safe?

The short answer is yes. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. All false extensions and eyelashes, as well as the glues used with them, must comply with the FDA’s cosmetics regulations. However, the rules are less stringent than for a medical device or drug.

Magnetic lashes do not use the glues that are used with conventional false eyelashes, which can trigger irritation and allergic reactions. However, if you don’t use them in the right way, you could still get infections or allergies. False eyelashes could be made of synthetic or human hair, human-made materials, whether they are traditional or temporary magnetic. Be aware that the quality may vary.

Whenever you take out your magnetic lashes, you may lose lashes just like when you remove other eyelash enhancements. They have the potential to break or end up causing your natural lashes to grow in a direction that they normally wouldn’t. Touching your eyes to put your lashes on, regardless of which type you buy, can result in an eye infection.
