Regardless of relationship status, people are more likely to approach someone who is walking a dog. About 2000 cat and dog owners have participated in this survey. Nearly 73 of participants mentioned that they like to approach a person who is walking a dog. The survey was conducted by OnePoll on behalf of ORIJEN pet food.

Having a pet increase the chance of getting dates

According to the survey, pets help people to get dates. Whether it is online or offline, pets helped their owners to get a date with their potential partner. About 49 percent of participants mentioned that their pet has been their “wingman” and helped them to collect the phone number for a potential date. The most interesting part is those who are sharing pet photos in their dating app profile more likely to swipe right on someone.

Warning signs and relationship

More than 70 percent of participants mentioned that they think is a red flag in people who don’t treat their dogs like family. About 52 percent of participants said that they were turned off a relationship when they observed that their partners didn’t allow their animals on the furniture.

However, some participants acknowledged that pets can make the relationship complicated. Sometimes pets also can attract them to a new relationship.
