Duration of sperm survival

Sperm can survive inside a woman’s reproductive tract for up to 5 days. But the strength of this statement depends on some preconditions like producing enough egg-white cervical mucus in the female body is necessary. It helps the sperm to keep healthy. If the woman is not in her most fertile condition and the ideal cervical mucus isn’t present, it will die quickly due to the vagina’s acidic environment.

Furthermore, not all sperm can survive up to 5 days. It is not guaranteed and also depends on the quality of it. If you are trying to get pregnant, it is wise to have sex prior to 2 days of ovulation and the day of ovulation.

Can sperm live long outside bodies?

Sperm cannot live for long outside human bodies. Usually, it can survive for up to 30 minutes outside of bodies and incubators. However, heat and any types of chemicals are not favorable to it. It may die off within a few seconds in this environment. Sperm dried on a surface is also not viable. So, you need not worry about being pregnant from a hotel bed sheet.
