Low expectations
When the lady approached John Benjamin, a renowned brooch expert from the Antiques Roadshow, with her piece of jewelry, she didn’t have high hopes. After all, other jewelers had previously weighed in, humorously dubbing the item the “big blue blemish” and suggesting that it was just an ordinary piece of costume jewelry.
